ARTIST STATEMENT (2008)
The source of my artistic production lies in my own daily, visual experiences in our information-oriented society.
My works derive from feelings stemming from the loss of relationships, such as absence, isolation and discontinuation. They do not allude to the subject or the object themselves, but are based on relationships and where they take place.
My aim does not lie in creating depth through providing substantial quality, quantity and meaning to thin, light objects. Rather, my aim is to temporally stretch out thin, light objects so that they are interspersed without being accumulated. In this way, I create my works through giving thought to whether it is possible to hold a relationship with the object I work with.

情報化社会での日常的な目の経験が私の制作のベースとなっている。
作品は不在、分離、断絶といった関係性の喪失から作られている。それは主体や対象についての言及ではなく、関係とそれが行われる場についての試みである。
軽く薄いものを、質的、量的、意味的に重くすることによって厚みを出すのではなく、時間的に、点在し積み重ならない形で引き伸ばすことができるか。そのようにして対象と関係することが可能であるかということを考えて制作している。

情報化社会での日常的な目の経験が私の制作のベースとなっている。
作品は不在、分離、断絶といった関係性の喪失から作られている。それは主体や対象についての言及ではなく、関係とそれが行われる場についての試みである。
軽く薄いものを、質的、量的、意味的に重くすることによって厚みを出すのではなく、時間的に、点在し積み重ならない形で引き伸ばすことができるか。そのようにして対象と関係することが可能であるかということを考えて制作している。
